 English 3, Post 2, "Why did I choose my major (study program)?"

My dream job, when I was a child, was getting a job as an artist because I loved to draw and paint, this was so fun for me. I enjoyed creating characters, stories, and whatever thing that grows in my imagination. As time passes I was little by little changing this dream because I was losing the habit of drawing, then I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life until the past year. 

The past year, I had to decide which career to choose, then I was searching different types of career in the field of science because I didn't know what thing I wanted, but I knew that my favorites subjects were science, especially chemistry and biology. For this reason, there were many options of scientist careers, like biochemistry, biotechnology, biology, medical technologist, chemistry, medicine, and pharmacy. But when applying to the University I just considered in first place Pharmacy on PUC, second place Pharmacy on Uchile, and third place chemistry on PUC, in other words, I had chosen Pharmacy and I was selected on U de chile.

I decided on Pharmacy because this major is just a great complement of things, blends good average salaries, stupendous employability, is a science, and a part of the job is dedicated to the laboratory, which is very interesting for me. Also, I thought that I could become a contribution to society and to their health, creating new forms of science that help people, that permit understand better the world around us and to ourselves.

My experience at the university has been good, I mean, this is new for me but I'm adapting. The first weeks were nice and quiet, but then in the next weeks, there are many things that I have to do and I'm very stressed. Although this happens, I feel I'm liking this major and for any reason I'm motivated, so I going to try to give my best effort.

I don't know if this is my ideal job, but this is the most interesting for me at the moment, and I hope it is.
